  • Conference Live Broadcasting

Provision is made to make all plenary presentations available through live broadcasting. All registered participants will be emailed a unique link address with passcode for the zoom meeting including instructions and times.


  • Programme

The meeting programme is scheduled to include a large number of key-note plenary talks followed by invited and oral presentations running in two parallel sessions from Monday, October 17th to Friday, October 21st. The opening session is scheduled for Sunday, October 16th with two distinguished plenary contributions by Dr. D. Ginley of National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and Prof. A. Facchetti of Northwestern University, USA.


Due to the prolonged travel restrictions imposed by several Governments all over the globe, a limited number of oral contributions have been accepted to be presented online.

For this reason, online contributions from colleagues from the Far East have been scheduled primarily during the early morning sessions taking into consideration the time zone differences.

On the other hand, online contributions from the USA have been scheduled during the late afternoon sessions for the same reason. All these online contributions are denoted in the programme as (OL). Speakers will be provided with a unique ZOOM link to log in at the time denoted in the program time slot. Please pay attention that the timetable of the programme corresponds to the EET (East European Time/ Athens-Greece) time zone. Online speakers must log in 10min before the due time to secure quality communication.


The meeting programme includes also three open (free) special workshops on diverse subjects promoting the interest of all participants, particularly students and young researchers.

In particular, those intending to attend the first workshop (Sunday, October 16th at 12:00-14:00h) should bare in mind that: a) Participation is restricted to max 20 pax, and b) It is required that they send to the conference secretary by October 10th , 2022, a 15min ppt scientific presentation on any subject they like. During the workshop, 2 or 3 presentations will be selected as case-study on which useful feedback will be provided by the organizer for all the audience.


  • Poster Sessions

There are two poster session presentations, scheduled to run on Tuesday, October 18th and Thursday, October 20th during the lunch break. All posters must have been pinned on the designated board for the full duration of the conference (Monday to Friday).

Those participants who have a poster presentation but are unable to be present to defend it, should send a full colour printed copy of their poster and a pdf file to the conference secretary the latest ONE WEEK in advance. Conference personnel will subsequently pin them on their behalf with a note “online” meaning that any comments that attendees would like to make, will have to send them to the corresponding author of the poster through e-mail.


  • Conference Dinner

The traditional conference dinner is scheduled for Thursday, October 20th in a selected location a short ride from the venue Hotel free of charge. All participants and their spouses are welcome to join us for this memorable conference event.


  • Publications

A special issue with selected papers presented during the TCM/TOEO2022 will be produced in collaboration with the Thin Solid Films (TSFs) of Elsevier, an international journal that serves the needs of our participants and accommodates scientists and engineers working in the fields of thin film synthesis, characterization, modelling, and applications.

Participants who wish to have their paper published in this special issue should know that: a) a full manuscript of 4-8 pages (including graphs, tables and pictures should be submitted directly to TSFs following instructions that will be available a few weeks before the meeting, b) the format of the paper should follow the standard requirements of the TSF journal, c) all submitted manuscripts will go through a full peer review process in line with the journal regulations of regular manuscript submission, d) deadline for paper submission is set for November 20th, 2022.
